"Creature Feature" returns to Saturday night TV
Omaha.Com Online Reader Responses:

Thanks to the internet and Omaha World-Herald, the newspaper's online edition (Omaha.com) , a lot of fans were able to post their feelings about the new CREATURE FEATURE, and share them with the entire world. These messages appeared below the original article online.

I can't wait! I hope they show the Abbott and Costello movies, the original Karloff movies, etc. I remember watching the show as a kid and I am looking forward to watching the show again with my kids. I hope the new San Guinary is not too goofy. Ah-Ah-Ahhhh!

Doesn't any one else remember the spooky show on Saturday night that aired during the early or mid-60's? I think it was Dr. Kilgore, or something like that. I remember being a young teen, being home alone and watching "House on Haunted Hill" with Vincent Price. Scared to death!!! And then Kilgore would pop up on the corner and say something or laugh. He had a body hanging in the corner, but all you could see was his legs hanging. They even sent out post cards announcing upcoming movies...Mothra, etc. with the creature's picture on the card.

This is great. I am tuning in and like that they kept the same intro video clips and B-rate movies. I remember as a kid the original Dr. and met him once. He was always involved with kids all over Omaha communities. Good luck to Dr. Jr.!

Very Cool to have the Show back... I vividly remember Dr San Guinary calming me down at a local haunted house when I was just a little 5 year old, standing outside one scared to death... He was a wonderful person, and to have some of that old charm back is great...

I worked at KMTV in the early 80s. It was fun working on the show and I miss John Jones. Willard is the perfect producer to bring the show back. Good Luck!!!!11111

I rememberthe good/evil Doctor very well. He was a very giving man and volunteered his free time for the Ralston Volunteer Fire Dept. My dad sold him his house in Ralston. He spent countless hours performing at parades, hospitals, socials and etc...Glad to see the show is back and RIP MR. Jones!

I can remember the first time I was allowed to stay up 'til midnight watching Frankenstein on Creature Feature with my dad. I can hardly wait till my kid is old enough to stay up and watch some classic black & white horror film on Creature Feature or if I dare hope for the famed Creature DOUBLE Feature!

I grew up watching Creature Feature. I hope they show "Day of the Triffids". That one scared the bejeezers out of me and I don't think I've seen it since I was 13 years old.

The old show varied between bad and good movies, showing many more bad ones than good ones. Some of the original Doc's best material involved making fun of the really bad movies during the breaks. But it was also enjoyable when a classic was shown as well. TV listings indicate that no classics have been shown yet, so I hope KMTV remembers to throw a good one in there every once-and-awhile, so that the youngsters being targeted can appreciate a classic and know the difference. Either way, it is a great idea to bring it back.

I too can remember the days of watching Creature Feture with my dad (who was a friend of Johns. As soon as I heard "San Guinary" I got giddy. This should be fun. Thank you KMTV.

That's great, KMTV! You wait until after I've moved from Omaha to Minneapolis, THEN you bring back "Creature Feature". Thanks a lot! However, it's good to hear one of my childhood Saturday night addicions has come back. I have to make sure to check it out the next time I come home.

There are some great awful horror films ie, "Plan Nine From Outer Space",quite possibly the worst film ever made.I would also bring back the "The Tingler" with Vincent Price and my all time favorite "The Head That Would'nt Die"

That's great to know that KMTV has bought a tradition back to life. Being only 28 I vaguely remember the Saturday Night Creature Feature, but I defintely remember the Dr. San Guinary "fish bowl" come telethon time. I'll have to check it out when i'm home over Turkey Day.

The Son Of San Guinary website is located at http://sonof.drsanguinary.com and has updated schedules, video and photos! The original Dr. San Guinary WebLab is also avaiable at http://www.drsanguinary.com which also features a lot of memorabilia about the original show. There is a place on bot websites where you can send e-mail to KMTV to let them know how you feel about the new show.

I must say that it is about time someone brought back this Omaha tradition. My childhood would never have been the same without CREATURE FEATURE , and it is good to see someone put on a show that i can share with my kids and not worry that they will be too frightened or scared to watch it. I also saw the Dr. Sanguinary website today and that really brought back the memories. Again, thank you, KMTV.
